Jessica Alba has officially filed for divorce from her husband, Cash Warren, after 16 years of marriage. The Sin City actress, 43, submitted the legal paperwork in Los Angeles County court on Friday, citing irreconcilable differences as the reason for their separation. According to court documents, the couple officially split on December 27, 2024, and Alba has requested to restore her name to Jessica Marie Alba after previously taking Warren’s last name.
Alba and Warren first met while working on the 2005 film Fantastic Four, where Alba played Sue Storm (Invisible Woman) and Warren worked as an assistant to director Tim Story. Warren is also the son of actor Michael Warren, known for Hill Street Blues.
The couple tied the knot in 2008 and share three children: Honor, 16, Haven, 13, and Hayes, 7. In her filing, Alba requested joint legal and physical custody of their children, emphasizing their commitment to co-parenting despite the separation.
In January, Alba confirmed their split via Instagram, sharing a heartfelt message about their journey. “I’ve been on a journey of self-realization and transformation for years—both as an individual and in partnership with Cash. I’m proud of how we’ve grown as a couple and in our marriage over the last 20 years, and it’s now time for us to embark on a new chapter of growth and evolution as individuals,” she wrote. She further emphasized that their priority remains their children and requested privacy during this transition.
Alba, who recently returned to acting with Netflix’s action thriller Trigger Warning, had previously taken a step back from Hollywood to focus on her business ventures, including The Honest Company, a brand dedicated to ethical consumer products. She also starred in the Bad Boys spinoff series L.A.’s Finest alongside Gabrielle Union for two seasons.
Neither Alba nor Warren has publicly commented on the divorce filing, and representatives for both have not responded to media inquiries. Despite their split, the former couple appears committed to maintaining a respectful and amicable relationship as they co-parent their children.
