A cold front is sweeping across Germany, bringing snowfall and bitterly cold temperatures, with lows potentially reaching minus 14 degrees. A cold air drop, also known as an upper-level low, is influencing the weather across much of the country. The coming days will remain unsettled, according to Wetter.com.

On Tuesday night, skies will be mostly clear in the northeast, while parts of Lower Saxony will experience snowfall. The south will see occasional rain, and freezing rain could create hazardous icy conditions from the Bavarian Forest through the Vogtland region to the Hessian Highlands. Temperatures in the southwest will remain relatively mild, ranging from 3 to 8 degrees, whereas the northeast will experience significantly colder conditions between -2 and -7 degrees.

By Wednesday, the northeast will see plenty of sunshine, while snowfall continues in parts of Lower Saxony. In the south, widespread rain is expected, and freezing rain may cause icy roads in Bavaria’s eastern low mountain ranges and central regions. North Rhine-Westphalia will stay mostly dry with some cloud breaks. In the afternoon, clouds will partially clear in the south. Temperatures in the north will hover around freezing, accompanied by a biting east wind, while the southwest will enjoy milder conditions between 10 and 14 degrees.
