Since joining the university in 2020, Prof. Großbölting played a pivotal role. He was a Professor of Modern and Contemporary History. He also served as the Director of the Research Center for Contemporary History (FZH). His dedication went beyond academia. As the Executive Director of the Academy of World Religions, he championed interfaith dialogue. He fostered meaningful conversations about religion and history in contemporary society.

A Scholar of Great Influence

Prof. Großbölting’s career was marked by an unwavering commitment to understanding and interpreting the complexities of German and European history.
