A Kenyan court has granted police 21 days to detain two suspects in connection with the death of British national Campbell Scott. The 58-year-old businessman’s body was discovered on February 22, 2025, in a remote area of Mukuyuni, approximately 110 kilometers southeast of Nairobi.

Scott, who had traveled to Kenya to attend a conference, was last seen on February 16 leaving his hotel in Nairobi’s Westlands area with an unidentified man. They reportedly took a taxi to a residential area in the city.

The two detained suspects, identified as Alex Mutua Kithuka and Albunus Mutinda Nzioki, are alleged to have lured Scott to Kithuka’s residence in Nairobi’s Pipeline estate. There, they purportedly stole his credit cards and mobile phone, which were later linked to fraudulent transactions in Nairobi, Voi, and Mombasa. Following these events, Scott’s body was found in a forested area, leading to a murder investigation.

An initial autopsy on Scott’s body was inconclusive, revealing only minor injuries insufficient to determine the cause of death. Consequently, further toxicological tests are being conducted to ascertain the exact circumstances surrounding his demise.

The court has scheduled the next hearing for March 24, 2025, to review the progress of the investigation.
