ProSieben is set to launch an exciting new daily drama series, “The Cooking Academy,” marking the network’s first foray into daily scripted television in nearly two decades. Filming is scheduled to begin in March at Haniel Castle near Cologne, with a total of 120 episodes planned.

The show is set at the fictional Cooking Academy Culinary Arts by Alexander Eichen, located on the German-French border. This elite institution trains aspiring chefs under the guidance of top culinary professionals. According to ProSieben, the series will explore themes of friendship, rivalry, romance, ambition, family bonds, and the pressures of professional cooking.

A Star-Studded Cast with Fresh Talent

“The Cooking Academy” features a mix of well-known actors and fresh faces. Returning to television are Simone Hanselmann (“GZSZ”), Lea Marlen Woitack (“Sturm der Liebe,” “Rote Rosen”), and Mirco Wallraf (“Verbotene Liebe,” “Marienhof”). The lead role of Irini Dimitriou will be played by newcomer Lara Kimpel, with additional performances by rising actors Louis Jérôme Wagenbrenner and Brian Rosenkranz.

Anticipation Builds for the Premiere

While the influence of the acclaimed US series “The Bear” on this project remains speculative, “The Cooking Academy” promises to bring a fresh take on the world of haute cuisine. ProSieben has yet to announce an exact premiere date or time slot, but the show is expected to debut in spring 2025. Viewers can look forward to a blend of drama, intrigue, and culinary excellence as the series unfolds.
