Russian forces launched deadly attacks on multiple residential areas in Ukraine’s eastern Donetsk region, killing five people and injuring nine others, according to regional prosecutors.

Targeted Areas and Casualties

The strikes hit Kostyantynivka, Pokrovsk, Lyman, Velyka Novosilka, and Dobropillia, with aerial bombs causing significant damage. In Ivanopillia, a village in Kostyantynivka, an 89-year-old man was killed in his home. The other four fatalities—men aged 43, 57, 62, and 75—were reported in Pokrovsk, Yablunivka, Lviv, and Kostyantynopil.

The nine injured victims, aged 47 to 76, suffered shrapnel wounds and explosion-related injuries, officials said.

Widespread Destruction

Overnight strikes damaged residential buildings and infrastructure, particularly in Pokrovsk, where images show shattered windows, collapsed walls, and debris-strewn streets.

The attack underscores the continued intensity of fighting in eastern Ukraine, where Russian forces have been pushing to gain territory amid Ukraine’s ongoing resistance.
